Linnette's statement
"My background experiences have deeply shaped my commitment to providing compassionate, individualised care to each client. I am grounded in the belief that every individual deserves unconditional positive regard. My approach is client-centred, and I strive to create a safe space where any individual can feel respected, accepted, and understood. I’m especially experienced in helping individuals on the autism spectrum with emotional regulation and social skills training, but my interests and expertise extend to working with clients facing challenges with depression, anxiety, workplace stress, anger, ADHD (including general executive functioning difficulties), and family dynamics.
Whilst Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) forms a core foundation in my practise due to its strong scientific basis and proven effectiveness, my therapy style draws tools and techniques from a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor my interventions to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and personal context. I am experienced in conducting Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; including mindfulness practices).

For clients who benefit from a more experiential approach, I also incorporate elements of play therapy and interpersonal therapy to foster self-expression and deepen relational skills in a way that feels natural and engaging. Furthermore, I employ creative methods, including art and interactive activities, which can be especially helpful for those who may find it easier to communicate their emotions through creative expression. My training has emphasised the importance of using evidence-based assessments that provide valuable insights into a client’s strengths and areas for growth, allowing me to design interventions that are both informed, highly personalised, and effective. This enables me to support each client in a way that resonates with their unique personality, challenges, and aspirations for change. As a therapist, I am a strong advocate for my clients. I believe that we all deserve the tools to lead fulfilling lives, the ability to reflect and build self-awareness, and the language to express ourselves effectively and make empowered choices. I am committed to working collaboratively with my clients to build these skills together, supporting them in navigating life’s challenges with confidence, resilience, and self-compassion, making informed choices that align with their values and aspirations."
